Vidya Muralidharan

 

Ms. Vidya Muralidharan is an HR professional with three decades of experience in HR consulting and practice across top corporates in India. She worked full time for twenty five years, starting with business consulting in TCS and Satyam, going on to take up diverse roles at middle and mid-senior levels across the gamut of HR, including Business HR, L&D, OD, Performance and Talent management, across top corporates like Airtel, the Murugappa Group, Orchid Pharma and Ashok Leyland.

Vidya has always been very passionate about working with people to enable development and growth. In keeping with this interest, a majority of her work during her fulltime stint was in this area. Given this aspect, when Vidya started doing freelance consulting in 2016, it was a natural transition to become a coach in both the Life Enrichment and Leadership Effectiveness space. Vidya is now a certified ICF coach, working with mid-senior and senior executives in their leadership journeys, including career transition and focusing on women – mid-career, mid-life in her life enrichment coaching. She has also gone online, launching a program titled Victim to Warrior Mindset, targeted at women.  

On the consulting side, Vidya’s focus is on OD interventions and change management, primarily for SMEs.

Vidya has lived and studied/worked across various parts of India; has also travelled and worked across different countries and cultures. She is fluent in English, Tamil (mother tongue), Kannada, Hindi, besides having a working knowledge of Telugu, Oriya and Malayalam. She is also familiar with French and Japanese.

Vidya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology from Bangalore University, an MBA from Xavier Institute of Management and an MSc in Organizational Psychology from Birkbeck College, University of London. She is a certified NLP practitioner, a Reiki Master practitioner and an Akashic Records healer. She blends techniques from these domains, as well as Positive Pscyhology, particularly in her life coaching work. Her learning journey continues as she believes that learning is a lifelong effort.

Besides the HR profession, her other interests are – Reading, Music – she is a trained Carnatic vocal singer, continues to engage in singing as a hobby, she loves Travel. She also does some volunteering and community work, and practices Isha yoga for emotional and spiritual growth and well-being.

Vidya is married to Muralidharan, who works in the retail sector, and has a daughter, Manasa, aged 25, who is currently pursuing a PhD.
