Sandhya Rao is an entrepreneur, a dancer, a costume stylist, with over 2 decades of work experience in the apparel and non-apparel sectors.
She is founder of the start up venture Wikiwear™. Wikiwear has developed a portfolio of branded fashion apparel and accessories with some products focused on cancer care.
She is also the co-founder of a healthcare technology venture, RedMed Health Systems.
She has a degree in engineering from Bangalore University and a post-graduate diploma in entrepreneurship development from NIESBUD, Delhi.
Sandhya is the ALL Ladies League India Chairperson for Startup Support (www.aall.in) and
National council member of WICCI, Diversity & Inclusion(https://wicci.in).
Under the aegis of ALL, she has led and organised many events targeted at entrepreneurs and promoted startups. She has also been a core member of the organising team for the Women Economic Forum, Chennai, and the first Digital Women Economic Forum, 2020, hosted by Bangalore, India.
She is actively involved with NGOs such as Chiguru, which works for the underprivileged children, and the India Literacy Project (ILP), a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to spreading the cause of literacy in India.
Sandhya is a Kathak dancer and an aspiring classical Carnatic violinist. A voracious reader, a Bollywood retro music buff, in her spare time, she dabbles with theater and costume styling for the movies.
She has been conferred with many awards including the Women Economic Forum awards – Exceptional Woman of Excellence in 2018 and Leader of the Decade in 2020.
