YY Low is passionate about helping others discover their passion and maximising their potentials. She has always been involved in charitable works, missions and social causes in one way or another since she was 18. YY graduated with Masters (MSc) with distinction in Health Psychology and also a member of the British Psychological Society. She was a psychologist in Health Promotion Board; counselled children and parents in the Student Health Center (SHC), from primary to junior college level. She and the team specialized in health, diet and nutrition, motivating the children to aim towards a healthy lifestyle. In addition, she also help to screen students for various behavioural and psychological issues, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism, paranoia and anger problem; and refer them to Child Guidance Clinic of the Singapore Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for further help and follow-up. In addition, she assisted in counselling and compiling data for pregnant teenagers (under 16 years old). Trained as a psychologist, she conducted training, organised events, developed programme, and undertook various frontline special projects, one of such was research work and paper writing for SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). It was a valuable experience as we had first-hand information and data on SARS, and saw how the research papers could be useful to consolidate what we learnt from the outbreak. Always seeking for effective methods of therapy and helping others, she is also a certified NLP practitioner, TimeLine Therapy Practitioner, and Hypnotherapist. She specialises in the area of health, especially on weight management and stress management. She enjoys coaching and making a difference in other people’s lives.
