Whitney Boakye – Mensah, is the Managing Partner and Creative Director of INNORVATIONS / EVENTS WBM, a company she started after going through a rather emotional journey to motherhood and had to resign from work after finally being blessed with a child, after the initial year of being a full time stay at home mum and wife, she decided with the help of her husband to start her company She had by then tried several times to get back into mainstream corporate work to continue her practice as PR/Marketing person, a position she held at her last corporate work but turn downs, and sometimes some offers that were not palatable, left her with no option than to resort to selling bags of sachet water and ice cream, one of the then activities was to listen to Entertainment review on Peace FM, and send in her cont ributions of thoughts on the entertainment industry in Ghana, a passion she
had always had, she got a call up to be guest panelist, and later a full time panel member, something she has been doing twice a week on Peace FM and Neat FM, the past 8 years Her company, INNORVATIONS / EVENTS WBM is also the only comapny that does protocol services formost mainstream concerts and events in the country, with some of her clients such as CharterHouse, MultiChoice Ghana, Imajiin Advertising,Kenpong Group of Companies Empire Entertainment, ,etc., she has worked on Concerts such as Joe Thomas in Ghana, Chris Brown in Ghana, Bow Wow and Keri Hilson in Ghana, Ghana Stands in Worship, Legends and Legacy, Ghana Music Awards, Rapperholic, Gh meets Naija,Radio and Television Awards, Glitz Africa Fashion Show,to mention a few, she also does counselling on waiting on the fruit of the womb for couples going through periods of childlessness, as well as youth/gender mentoring and empowerment Her best times are with her husband and three sons, hobbies that include home decor, reading, long country drives, listening/singing to powerful worship songs, watching Chelsea/Kotoko, play Football, travelling, and her favourite foods include snails with jollof , chocolates deserts! In recent years, Whitney has added another mantle to her already full plate, she started My Dear Sister’s keeper community, a plat form of women from diverse backgrounds who are going through stigmatization of infertility, miscarriages and stillbirths, something she went through after suffering from seven miscarriages and two stillbirths and had no form of support except her husband’s, decided to create a community where women feel safe enough to vent, talk, cry, and openly discuss issues of such nature without any form of judgment, the community also has some of Ghana’s best fertility Drs, Counselors, and Psychologists, who at tend to women with such needs, sometimes with funding from her resources or heavily discounted as beneficiaries of the community.
She was awarded the Female Personality of the Year , for 2018, by the Xedous Communications Group, in partnership with British Council, at the 40/40 Awards ceremony in Accra, and featured on the plat form, Humans of New York.
