Kamakhya Temple is an important pilgrimage destination for all sects of Hindus and especially for Tantric worshipers.
Back to hotel for refreshment and check out. Proceed to Shillong (110km/03hrs). Pass through the panoramic view of Umium Lake to reach Shillong, the then capital of the British ruled Assam becomes the capital of Meghalaya only after 1972. Situated at an altitude of 1,496 meters AMSL, the city still provides the feeling of being influenced by the British in their lifestyle.

DAY 02: SHILLONG – MAWLYNNONG –DAWKI- SHILLONG
An early check out and drive to Mawlinnong village (90 kms/03 hrs) is claimed to be the cleanest village in Asia. Mawlynnong village takes its position for its cleanliness. The people of this village have joined their hands to keep their village litter free.
Also walk to the living root – bridge near the village. These bridges are unique formations built by the secondary roots of the rubber trees. The local people net the roots with each other to form a ropeway like structure which after about 100 years becomes strong enough to be used as a bridge to cross the hilly streams.
Also drive to Dawki a small but busy town in the East Jaintia Hills district near the Indo-Bangladesh border. On arrival at Dawki visit Indo – Bangladesh border check post and enjoy the boating at Umngot River which flows through dawki is one of the cleanest river with clear blue water.
Afternoon drive back to Shillong and overnight stay.

DAY 02: SHILLONG – MAWLYNNONG –DAWKI- SHILLONG
An early check out and drive to Mawlinnong village (90 kms/03 hrs) is claimed to be the cleanest village in Asia. Mawlynnong village takes its position for its cleanliness. The people of this village have joined their hands to keep their village litter free.
Also walk to the living root – bridge near the village. These bridges are unique formations built by the secondary roots of the rubber trees. The local people net the roots with each other to form a ropeway like structure which after about 100 years becomes strong enough to be used as a bridge to cross the hilly streams.
Also drive to Dawki a small but busy town in the East Jaintia Hills district near the Indo-Bangladesh border. On arrival at Dawki visit Indo – Bangladesh border check post and enjoy the boating at Umngot River which flows through dawki is one of the cleanest river with clear blue water.
Afternoon drive back to Shillong and overnight stay.
DAY 03: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – GUWAHATI
Drive to Cherrapunjee, a small town located on the southern edge of Khasi Hills, a dissected plateau at an altitude of about 4823 feet (1484 m) above mean sea level. It is known as the rainiest rain – belt in the world. The lovely town is also famous for its limestone caves and orange honey. However, in 1985 Mawsynram surpasses the title of Cherrapunjee as the wettest place on Earth by recording an annual rainfall of 11,872 mm (above 39 feet).
Today’s attraction: Enroute to Cherrapunjee visit Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak – to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Cherrapunjee: Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai Falls, Thankarang Park, and Koh Ramhah .Afternoon drive back to Guwahati (160Km/05 Hrs) and drop you at your hotel.

ITINERARY 3:
DAY 01: GUWAHATI – KAZIRANGA
Drive to Kaziranga National Park (220kms/04 ½hrs) – a World Heritage Site and Tiger Reserve, covering an area of 430 Sqkms. It is the home to more than 80% of world’s Rhino population. along with the other game animals like Buffalo, Asiatic Elephant, Tiger and Sambar . Evening at leisure.
O/N at Kaziranga.
DAY 02: KAZIRANGA – SHILLONG
Early morning Elephant ride (5.30-6.30 a.m. / 6.30-7.30 a.m.) in the Central/Western range followed by a jeep safari in the same range.
Per lunch proceed to Shillong (290km/07hrs). Pass through the panoramic view of Umium Lake to reach Shillong, the then capital of the British ruled Assam becomes the capital of Meghalaya only after 1972. Situated at an altitude of 1,496 meters AMSL, the city still provides the feeling of being influenced by the British in their lifestyle.
On arrival at Shillong check in at your hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Shillong.

visit Maa Kamkhya Temple – located at Nilachal hill is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is considered most sacred and oldest of the 51 Shakti Peethas on earth. Kamakhya Temple is an important pilgrimage destination for all sects of Hindus and especially for Tantric worshipers.

Brahmaputra River originates in the Chemayungdung mountain ranges which nearly sixty miles south-east of Mansarovar lake in the Mount Kailash range in Southern Tibet travels 2880 km from its origin through the Tibet and India and finally merges with the sea in Bangladesh. The river enters Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh near Gelling where it is known as the Siang or Dihang. The SiangRiver meets two other major tributaries of Brahmaputra, Dibang and Lohit in the west of Sadiya, at a place named Kobo. From this confluence point, the river is known as the Brahmaputra till it enters Bangladesh.
