Dr Godec obtained a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Chemistry from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and continued her research in the field of development of new antimicrobial agents as a 2012 UNESCO-L’Oréal »For Women in Science« International Fellow at University of Warwick, UK, where she also worked on several industrial collaborations (AstraZeneca, Basilea).
Her scientific work is published in several peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Nature Communications, and she also contributed to popularization of science in Slovenia by covering life science themes for the popular science magazine Gea and by speaking engagements at various events aimed at elementary and high-school students.
After a brief period as a scientist in Lek, a Sandoz company, she completed the Executive MBA studies at IEDC Bled School of Management and joined Lenis farmacevtika, a specialty pharmaceutical wholesaler, as a Business Development Manager in 2015.
