Victoria Silchenko, Ph.D. is one of the leading alternative funding experts in the United States, an economist turned entrepreneur and adviser known for being at the forefront of next-generation impact-driven venture financing models in the new digital era. Recognized worldwide as an “entrepreneurial ambassador,” Victoria is a prominent voice in the entrepreneurial community focusing on modern capital formation issues, including crowdfunding, venture capital and new tools enabled by blockchain. In the past decade, Victoria has conducted pioneering studies and written research-driven and thought-provocative articles for the Huffington Post, Los Angeles Business Journal, Crowdfund Insider and many others; she has been also featured by numerous industry channels such as Forbes, Equities.com, etc.
Recognized by the Biz Journal as a Women of Influence (2017), she has been invited to both the White House and the UN Leadership Summit in recognition of her efforts and has been selected as an “Ambassador of Entrepreneurship” by the U.S. Department of State Speaker Program “Entrepreneurship – Technology Hubs” and since then she traveles as the key-note speaker and conducts workshops for entrepreneurs in countries such as Brazil, Kyrgyzstan and Zambia.
Dr. Silchenko is the founder & CEO of Metropole Capital Group which she launched in 2004 in Los Angeles, California to provide strategic and capital formation advisory services. Since then she has served numerous startups and emerging growth ventures in abroad range of industries throughout the U.S. and BRIC. Before striking out on her own she worked as an analyst at the Milken Institute (think-tank managed by Michael Milken) in Santa Monica (California) and directly with Dr. Arthur Laffer, former economic adviser to President Reagan.
On a quest to unite “entrepreneurial friendly” financiers and educate entrepreneurs on new funding models, in 2012 she launched the first Next Generation Entrepreneurship and Global Crowdfunding Forum which later was rebranded as the World Funding Summit, based in Los Angeles (California). The unique annual gathering has quickly become the premier event in entrepreneurial venture financing uniting FinTech innovators, investors, entrepreneurs and leading authorities from around the world. On its 6th anniversary in 2017 the Summit was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, drew nearly 1,000 attendees and was endorsed by Los Angeles’s Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Dr. Silchenko has served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) from 2013 to 2018, she is also currently on the Advisory Board of The California Stock Xchange.
Additionally, Dr. Silchenko has been an Adjunct Professor at the Californian Lutheran University (CLU), School of Business since 2014 teaching an “Entrepreneurial Finance” course for MBA students, a course she authored based on her years of related experience and an expertise.
