Founder, LoveThisStuff

Banglore, India

Vatsala Kothari is the Founder of LoveThisStuffand an ISB alumnus with over 8 years of experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, and branding. LoveThisStuff.com is an online marketplace where creative entrepreneurs, designers, hobbyists, artists can sell their creations and curious consumers can buy original and handmade products that break the norms of the mass market.
In the initial days of her career, Vatsala had the opportunity to work with established names like Mudra. When most of her contemporaries were settling down in corporate jobs, shestarted off on her first entrepreneurial venture, Bee Happy, which focused on personalized gifting to individuals and institutions. As a home-entrepreneur she achieved breakeven in a year by increasing sales through various exhibitions, online partnerships with gift websites, etc. However, she understood the challenges of scaling such a creative business with limited avenues for marketing for small entrepreneurs like her. This is where the idea behind her venture LoveThisStuff germinated.
After completing her MBA and keen to grasp the nuances of starting up, she joined TaxiForSure.com. Vatsala was the youngest in the senior management, spearheading the marketing activities and mentoring a team of 5. She helped the company transition from an era of call bookings to the taxi app bookings we know today, scaling the consumer base to 10X.
Later, as the Brand Evangelist at Zivame,Vatsala undertook a diverse set of responsibilities from digital communication and catalog building to launching their first physical store, which in turn gave her a full flavour of consumer commerce. Under her, Zivame brand was awarded the Paul Writer top 50 brands award in the year 2015. Her brand was also mentioned as part of Afaqs Brands in 2015.
In both these capacities, she had the opportunity to work directly with the founders, understanding the intricacies of building and scaling an online business as well as the softer aspects of entrepreneurship. These experiences inspire her leadership style today.
With immense learning and hands-on experience of different functions behind her, Vatsala followed her dream of starting LoveThisStuff. Today, LTS has more than 500+ designers registered with more than 15000+ distinct items from designers across the country.
Vatsala bagged the $1 million Elevator Pitch by Matrix Partners in 2013.Vatsala has a BE in Computers from Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College and PGPM from the Indian School of Business. Her other areas of interest include theatre and events. She has been the lead actor in 48 international theatre shows across 4 continents.
