An award-winning researcher, Varna Sri Raman has thirteen years of experience in social research and global development implementation. Her career includes leadership roles at Kantar Public, BBC Media Action, and Sesame Street in India. She has worked with clients such as UNICEF, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, CARE and Plan International, on many cross-sectoral research projects spanning seven countries and four continents.

With extensive academic qualifications in development, including a research fellowship in School Innovations from Harvard, an education from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai) in Development Studies, two master’s degrees in business and International Corporate Law Management and Public Policy, Varna also has certifications in cutting-edge disciplines such as Design Thinking for Social Service Delivery, Visual Anthropology and Applied Machine Learning for Global Development.

She currently runs PinPoint Ventures (http://www.pinpointventures.in) a social research firm focussed on advisory and capacity building for global development organisations. A permanent member of the Harvard Square Leaders Excellence group, Varna is currently writing a book on Global Development practice focussing on “how to think about prickly problems”.
