Temsutula Imsong

I grew up in Ungma village Mokokchung District Nagaland. I am second youngest among seven siblings. My father is a retired school teacher and mother a house wife. In my village the much hyped eco friendly practices like sanitation,water harvesting etc have been a way of life since as long as I could remember.I did my schooling from Mokokchung and graduated from St Mary’s college Shillong. After my graduation I shifted to Delhi for further studies and also took up a job at British Counseling and Educational Institute.
Organisation – Sakaar Sewa Samiti (www. sakaar.co.in ) and is based in Varanasi . We have been involved in rural initiatives concerning child health, sanitation, relief efforts during floods, we are also working on supporting self help groups who are indulging in preserving traditional handicrafts in NE. We have been working towards promoting involvement of masses in keeping public areas clean. Of all the initiatives taken so far MissionPrabhughat/Parijat have become the most successful. We are successfully experimenting with e-prayogshala initiative in which we are using tablets in making the student experience some virtual lab experiments and a few other things to develop scientific temper at Saraswati Shishu Mandir ,Sunderpur, Varanasi. We have been creating awareness about Swachhta Apps and also organizing downloading camps , there by making people aware of its importance to keep our city clean. We are also aggressively creating awareness about cashless transactions by organising Bhim Apps downloading camps. We have been working in close coordination with Nagar Nigam on cleanliness and sanitation. ShramdaanIndia , a group initiated by us , has become a place of motivation, interaction and action for people from various cities of India. We are conducting workshops on Solid WasteManagement with school kids and learning composting at home.
