How technology has expanded financial inclusion for rural women in Africa: A Case of Uganda


Creating financial inclusion for the rural poor is a key enabler for seven of the Sustainable Development Goals including (SDG5) on achieving gender equality and economic empowerment of women. However, the majority of women particularly in the rural areas do not have access to appropriate financial services to support their economic activities and household financial needs. Partnering with Mobile Financial Services Providers, Shared Action Africa leverages digital financial products and delivery systems to improve access to savings, credit, inputs payment and insurance.
