Sylvia Escovar is the president of Organización Terpel. Before assuming this position, she was vice president of Corporate Group for 10 years, where she was responsible for both financial and strategic/commercial areas. Previously, Ms. Escovar worked in the public sector, holding various positions including financial vice president of Grupo Bancolombia, main economist for the Colombian Resident Mission of the World Bank, and head of the External Credit Division in the National Planning Department. She was also head of the Economic Research Department of Banco de la República Cartagena, head of the National Public Policy Evaluation System in DNP, and general director of FES Leadership Foundation. Ms. Escovar has also served as deputy secretary of public education for Mr. Enrique Peñalosa’s administration, deputy secretary of finance of the second Mr. Antanas Mockus administration, and financial vice president of Fiducolombia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, with studies in Econometrics in La Sorbonne, Paris, France.
