Suveera Saxena

Programme Management Assistant

India

My name is Ms. Suveera Saxena and I am an MBA by qualification. I have an experience of close to ten years in the fields of Skill Development, Project Management and Business Analysis. Before ESCAP, I have worked with Ernst & Young LLP and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on skill development projects and Jubilant Life Sciences in Business Analysis and Financial Planning.
In my current role at ESCAP-SSWA New Delhi office (Aug ’20 -till date), I am working as a Programme Management Assistant for the project “Ecommerce capacity building for women led MSMEs in South Asia “. I have been assisting in managing the project “E-Commerce Capacity Building for Women-led MSMEs in South Asia”. The project is being implemented by UNESCAP in collaboration with Enhanced Integrated Framework, Geneva. Under the project, we undertook a multifaceted approach and launched varied knowledge materials such as an e-learning course on e-commerce and digital marketing, a beginner’s manual on digital marketing and e-commerce and undertook various online and in -person workshops all over South Asia including Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Till date we have trained more than 2000 women entrepreneurs from South Asia and Africa as well and have received overwhelming feedback for all the trainings. I have been involved in all the project related activities including conducting training workshops, drafting related knowledge material, coordination with varied international stakeholders, synthesizing and preparing reports. Additionally, provided real time support to women entrepreneurs through helpdesk and social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp groups.
During my tenure at E&Y (2.6 years), I got an opportunity to work on various skill development projects with the Sector Skill Councils under the ambit of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India. I was able to utilize my exposure here to frame timelines of different projects, identify key deliverables, research and design Skill gap reports, Qualification Pack – National Occupational Standards for prioritized job roles with due monitoring and review in line with the project requirements. This role required management with various stakeholders, prepare reports and incorporate feedbacks to obtain approvals, and to ensure standards are ready to be taken for nation-wide skills trainings.
I was initiated into project management at National Skill Development Corporation (1.3 years), where I was tasked into the projects at a very early stage and was thereafter required to don the administrative cap and plan different strategies/data/meetings, organize not only with the skill development partners of NSDC, but also with government agencies, and review the deliverables versus the achievements. I gained insight into devising analytical reports, create and maintain internal database, and drafted dashboards on periodic /ad-hoc intervals which helped conduct reviews. Another key area of my focus was to compile and synthesize advocacy related material for upload on website and public dissemination including social media campaigns. Training and placement of women candidates was highlighted and training partners focusing on training women were encouraged and were given focus during NSDC briefings.
My years spent at Jubilant Life Sciences (5.6 years), empowered me with the necessary skills to draw out budgetary goals, review performance versus budget /forecasts, provide analytical inputs to various stake holders, and prepare various reports on a regular basis for management decision making and initial grooming of about 10 months at Mahindra Satyam provided me with basic knowledge on data compilation and analysis.
