Sustainability and Inclusiveness through south cooperation for scaling innovations

Access to basic services is still a significant challenge for the 40% people in the developing world and remains a significant development imperative. Over 1.5 billion people live without electricity, almost 3 billion do not have clean fuels for cooking, 780 million people lack access to clean drinking water; 1.3 billion people have no access to effective and affordable health care and globally, about 870 million people are estimated to be undernourished.
The magnitude of global challenges requires solutions that can reach billions rather than millions of people. Investing in and scaling proven social innovations across regions in the global south provides a unique opportunity to create sustainable development impact and achieve SDGs.
