The Artistic director at Mudra Centre for dance is a renowned creative artist who has her wings spread to the widest array of the art forms. India
She began her teaching career as a primary teacher in the esteemed institution-The Choice School., Tripunithura. There she was handling the co curriculum coordination as well as teaching Environmental Science in the junior classes. Her passion and training in dance lend her to choreograph and train students in the various culutural shows of the school. Her interests in arts led her to initiate several art music and cultural extravaganzas of the school which involved around 300 students right across class 1 to class 12.This experience prompted her to start a performing arts center of her own. She set up Mudra Centre for Dance as a space where holistic training is given in various art forms . The centre has now successfully completed 10 years and has trained numerous students from all walks of life.
Dance Profile:
Susheela was trained under Mrs. Padma Menon in modern dance, Smt Vijayasangeetha in the kalashetra style of Bhartnatyam and Contemporary and Jazz from ShiamakDavar’s Centre for Performing arts , Mumbai and is currently training under Smt Deepali Vichare in Kathak .With her expertise and passion for art she has made Mudra a fortress of soulful dance. She has also attended the yoga courses and sessions from Svyasa University Banglore. Her profound passion for dance and literature has made her a member of Magic Theater, an initiative to promote the theatre amongst the children in Kochi. It had staged various various productions like Kannadi a malayalam musical and an English play Oliver Twist in several venues in Kochi .An unique feature of these productions was the children themselves were rendering the music as well as orchestra.
She is also the founder member of Amaara foundation an NGO which empowers children and youth.
Creative Movement Therapy:
She who understood the therapeutic power of movement wanted others to experience the healing process,thus leading her to start her sessions on creative movement therapy.She is a certified trainer from creative movement therapy association of India (CMTAI) and Council of Dance Paris,France.She has faciliated such workshops in Infopark Kochi,Kottayam ladies club ,Income tax and central excise department, National school of Drama etc. She also gives training to teachers on movement therapy to be used in classrooms. The exploring of space and kinetics missing in children these days is being brought back to classrooms using such activities involving the body and mind.She has also collaborated with several NGOs like Amaara Foundation,MAD,Bodhini,The Art Outreach society etc for creative movement sessions to the abused or the underprivileged sections of the society and continues to spread the healing power of dance and movement.
