Entrepreneurship is never a limiting factor in a person’s life. Just a seed of innovation is all that I harnessed to keep the fire of growth within the heart and mind as a child. This drive has kept me thrive into various leadership positions now. Not to say less, being a female and a first generation entrepreneur hailing from a family of Government officials, it comes with some uninvited struggles to overcome & to break the chain of family history. I have streamlined my experiences of over 4 years into the field of Entrepreneurship and I have grown into one such serial entrepreneur, who started from scratch to live my dream.
I am Soumya LD, Founder and CEO of Sineta Enterprises, a socio-environmental early start-up working on multi-industrial products manufacturing with sustainable materials. My vision is to empower educated, young homeless and rural adults deprived of a decent livelihood for their self development and to prove their underlying capabilities. An intense field research is made on various communities, problems are mapped and sustainable solutions are created as business, to support and enhance growth. Our works diverse in small capacities in the fields of interiors, carpentry, pottery, arts & crafts, food, tailoring, natural dyeing, libraries, laser cutting, micro-greens, bio-enzymes and skincare. I aspire to make eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyles easier with business which provides sustainable livelihood for the deprived youth of the nation. Hence, striving forward with the venture that provides a solution to all comforts for a sustainable lifestyle, customized and manufactured under one roof.
Over the past 2 years, I am also associated with Sitara Enterprises, a leading handmade cosmetics manufacturer, as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The company being an end-to-end manufacturing service provider, is the platform for the creation of 100’s of small Indian brands in cosmetics. Located in a rural area, it provides employment to more than 60 people from nearby villages. I concentrate on the business development, workflow management and brand development of the enterprise. I have trained multiple teams to function independently into the workflow of the company. I have also developed and trained an diverse team of young professionals for the digital services wing of Sitara Enterprises, which is the life source of creating a brand and bringing it to multiply its turnover. It includes graphic design, animation, legal registrations, printing, branding and digital marketing services. I have created and scaled multiple brands from scratch, with innovative concepts and design into them.
I am a graduate in Social Entrepreneurship from The School of Management and Labour Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. My constant engagement and research with homeless adults and rural youth, pilot projects and creating livelihood opportunities for them has brought Sineta Enterprises into existence today.
