Then why, one may ask, did she choose to give it all up, and turn towards organic farming? “I want to bring about a social change by supporting livelihoods and empowering farmers through fair trade and switching to sustainable traditional Indian farming practices,” says Sonia Sharma, Nature Organic Founder and CEO, on her inspiration to start a range of Organic staples and Superfoods from India. Passion, that stemmed from the pain of seeing farmers in India resort to suicide, set Sharma on a quest for answers that led her to dig deep into Farming, Food as Medicine, Ayurveda, and Nutrition, while unraveling the marvels of nature in India-right from the Himalayas, to the lush forests of Wayanad, Kerala. It brought her closer to nature, and formed a solid base for her true calling-Nature Organic.
