My Name is Shruti Sharma. I was born in Karnal, Haryana and shifted to Himachal with my mother when I was 6 months old after she got a Govt. Job as a school teacher here. Raised by a strong mother and a supportive father, I grew up with a feminist mindset. Did all my schooling from Guru Nanak Mission Public School, Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh and graduation from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi. I joined Women Development Cell of my college as a volunteer in my first year and got promoted to the post of Core Member in second year to being the President of the Cell in my 3rd year. The three years spent here in the cell made me open to the process of unlearning and relearning constantly. We conducted so many gender sensitisation workshops, talked on topics which weren’t very openly discussed like menstrual health, sexual health etc. Conducted drives, discussions, researches and collaborations with NGOs and met a lot of people from different backgrounds who were strong enough to unlearn the mindset formed due to deeply rooted patriarchy and conditioning of the society. Managing a team of 200+ volunteers and a core team of 29 people taught me what real leadership meant and made me more empathetic towards people. Taking this beautiful experience and learning in my heart, I graduated from college and started my first Corporate job in a Big 4 company as an Assurance Associate. Worked here for more than an year and resigned after losing interest in the work and feeling I am at a wrong place. Started my own Marketing agency after and doing what I actually love and what motivates me to work everyday. Still exploring this beautiful journey called ‘life’ with ups and downs a constant part of it.
