Sheree Darien is one of the world’s best kept secrets. A philanthropic, multi-faceted lover of life, Sheree has conquered every difficulty in life she’s encountered. From teen wife and mom to business graduate, corporate bank executive, certified purpose development coach, business owner and international best-selling author, Sheree’s courage and determination has inspired millions to embrace the infinite possibilities for success that often come disguised as their second chance. Sheree Darien is the Executive Director of Second Chance Community Out reach, Inc. (SCCO). SCCO is a nonprofit organization created to assist under-served individuals by providing capital and technical assistance to start sustainable businesses. SCCO is an emerging Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with a vision to become the leading business lender in Southeast GA, South Carolina Lowcountry, and beyond. Sheree passionately serves on the boards of several nonprofit and educational institutions in her community. In 2009, Sheree was appointed Area Commissioner on the Technical College of Lowcountry governing board by the late Reverend Senator Clementa Pinckney and former Governor Mark Sanford. She was reappointed in 2012
by Pinckney and former Governor Nikki Haley. Sheree currently serves the governing board as Secretary and Treasurer. She cherishes this appointment in memory of her former schoolmate, mentor, and friend Clementa Pinckney. Sheree is a Lowcountry native with a degree in business management and counseling from Liberty University. Sheree is additionally the Savannah Chapter Co-Leader of Empowering a Billion Women by 2020. She hosts her own radio talk show every Thursday, titled “Courageous Conversations with Sheree”. Sheree was also recently blessed with the opportunity to appear in the memoir biopic The Gloria’s starring Bette Midler, Julianne Moore and Janelle Monet, a film remembering the life of female activist Gloria Steinem. Sheree can soon be found onstage during the remake of the 1977 National Women ’s Conference in Houston. To date, Sheree is known for the following quote: Purpose. The place where an epiphany and destiny collide. Sheree currently lives in South Carolina, USA with her beloved family and Maltipoo Connor.
