Shalini Singh, a womanpreneur with more than a decade of corporate experience in MNCs with a deep interest in the social sector, started her entrepreneurship journey by empowering rural artisans, especially women artisans, spreading awareness for the value their handcrafted products bring and promoting their talent both on the national and international landscape. Her venture, Soul for Earth, revisits and revives traditional wisdom for a sustainable lifestyle;
Her business idea is firmly grounded in the rich cultural traditions that inspire our heritage crafts and all-natural pure-source products that are a ready answer to our need for environment-friendly products. She is passionate about climate change and feels it’s our responsibility to hand over a healthy and nourished Mother Earth to the next generation, and this can be achieved if we become a conscious buyers and introduce eco-friendly products in our lifestyle.
She works with rural clusters to create contemporary designs and styles with existing crafts so that Indian handicrafts can be accepted in the Indian and global markets. The Ministry of MSME has selected her venture to represent the Indian handicrafts pavilion at Artigianoinfierra, Milan, Italy, for the International handicrafts fair. She has travelled to Spain and Dubai to exhibit and represent Indian companies at various fairs.
Shalini is pursuing a PhD at AMU in the field of Human Resources with a special focus on the work habits of the New Generation.
