Shailja Awasthi

Founder and Design Principal Shailja is the founder of Stories, a space design firm in Bangalore. In her initial years, she worked with some of the world’s leading international and national brand & design power houses. Having viewed design through various lenses for 12 years, she has evolved a unique perspective, be it designing a needle, an ad, an aircraft, a tree house or a home. Trying to shape her surroundings, which ended up shaping her, she transformed into a visual storyteller, who creates spaces that speak about people who live in them, and get inspired by them. Her work blends nature, science, art, mythology and technology in a delightful acquisition. Currently, she is a shapeshifter who loves transforming into mother, wife, cynophilist and entrepreneur, in that order. She speaks Hindi and English and enjoys writing, spoken word poetry and painting. Shailja holds her MBA in marketing and a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences.
