Shahnaz Rahman

Shahnaz Rahman has combined experience of over 25 years as an educator, author, counsellor, facilitator, advisor, manager and collaborator in local, provincial and national settings to advance women’s empowerment. Shahnaz has worked extensively with immigrant and refugee women and children who experienced family violence. As the Provincial Coordinator of Children’s Services, she provided training and support to over 75 Children Who Witness Abuse Counselling Programs across BC. In her current position at West Coast LEAF, Shahnaz manages community-based programming with a specific lens on family law to advance women’s equality rights. She has extensive experience in building community partnerships with diverse groups including members from ethno-cultural and Aboriginal communities across BC. Shana’s amazing mother and her two beautiful children are her inspiration and hope for social justice and equality.
