Shahmina Isha Mannan is a professional, dedicated to the cause of women empowerment through business in Bangladesh. A MBA graduate, she is pursuing her third degreein development studies at the University of Dhaka. She spent her earlier years growing up in the Middle East and therefore can really understand the importance of women’s leadership and their crucial role in the society. Since returning to her homeland Bangladesh, she has worked in various organizations in various capacities including as a young leader in AIESEC and more recently in the local chapter of JCI Dhaka East. She was an intern in the International Finance Corporation office in Dhaka working in research project in the light engineering sector. For the past 7 years, she has been involved in various capacity development and research projects in the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and is also the project coordinator of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation-FBCCI Project which also works in women entrepreneurship development, women’s digital financial access, women in SMEs, Start up financing for women, helping many micro and new entrepreneurs to secure bank loans. She has also served as the SAARC TPN Trainer on Non-Tariff Trade Environment in South Asia. Shahmina Isha Mannan is a liberal advocate and believer in fulfilling one’s social responsibility which she promotes through active participation in various forums. She has over the years worked with drug rehabilitation centre to raise awareness among youth to say no to drugs, women’s IT training, RMG women workers’ health and hygiene. Ms. Mannan is also a Sliver Awardee of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
