Seven Billion dreams. One planet. Consume with care


As UNEP points out, by 2050 if current consumption and production patterns remain the same, and with a rising population expected to reach 9.6 billion, we will need three planets to sustain our ways of living and consumption.

In the era of globalization and rapid technological transformation, the world as we know today is at the blink of a radical change. Amid the global threats of resources shortages, there is the opportunity of redefining the fundamentals of the current unsustainable economic model, and our relationship to the natural environment. Out of the box concepts and innovative ideas are leading the way: biomimicry, circular economy, and last but not least, ugly carrots, are set to become our next heroes!

This talk is conceived as an eye opener to the inextricably linked mechanisms of human activities and the called energy, water and food nexus. Through a set of examples, the audience will be solicited to participate in an exercise of critical thinking, problem solving and empowerment.
