The Chamundi Hill Palace is the family property of Shri. C Govindan Thampi, husband of Smt.Saroja Thampi. The magnificent 85 years old building was formerly known as Udayamangalam palace, named after Shri Udayavarma Raja who handed this alluring asset to his son Shri.G N Thampi( chief secretary), Mrs. Saroja Thampi’s father in law who later converted this asset into sumptuous edifice. And the legacy got carried onto Govindan Thampi ( Mrs. Saroja Thampi’s husband). The place situated on a hill, is a beautiful structure which stands out in all grace and grandeur. Breathtaking view of the whole country side is the best attraction. The place is aptly called Nadukani because of that and its grounds spreading over 60 acres .Mrs. Thampi felt that this lovely place must be seen and appreciated by all. With that in mind, she got her husband’s permission to start and ayurvedic retreat. In 2002 the Chamundi Hill Palace Ayurveda Retreat was opened. Fully traditional ayurvedic treatment is offered to the clients. Even client selection is based on that and authentic ayurvedic treatment is offered.
The unexpected demise of Mr. Thampi was a real shattering incident. All the family members discouraged Mrs. Thampi and wanted her to close down the retreat. But her strong faith, will power an determination provided her with the strength to continue the dream project that they had so fondly started.
With the blessings of God and her intense will power , this dream took deeper roots and now stands on par with other resorts. Thanks to the will of God , the Chamundi Hill Palace has featured in various magazines and travel web site and has also got wonderful ratings too. Kerala tourism department has awarded the Green Leaf certification to Chamundi Hill Palace. We have also received Unique Times VPN IBE International Business Excellency award in Medical Tourism recently. With God’s blessing the Chamundi Hill Palace will continue its legacy for many more years serving society and taking our traditional ayurvedic splendor to international guest. Lots of charitable programs and donations are also a part of our service schemes.
