Dr. Ritu Anand is the Senior Vice President & Chief Leadership and Diversity Officer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a role she was given charge from April 1, 2019.
In this role, she is responsible for identification and development of senior leaders in TCS. In addition to this, she is leading diversity for the entire organization, enhancing all aspects of diversity in workforce, with a focus on creating more women leaders in the Leadership Pool – with a commitment to build and sustain a robust leadership pool with diverse representation from all employee segments. Prior to this role, she led Talent Management and Total Rewards functions in TCS where she implemented progressive policies for women and Gen Y workforce to enable career growth and close pay gaps and managed compensation & benefits, workforce policy planning, career, competencies, performance, leadership assessments, employee welfare programs, including TCS Cares and Counselling. Ritu began her career in TCS in 1989 with Training and Development and moved on to handle the performance management and compensation & benefits for over 8 years. She then led the HR for TCS North America from 1998-2001. She played a major role in setting up new offices in North America including Canada, forming HR regional structure to support business growth for years to come. She has traveled extensively across the globe and has developed a framework for the cross-cultural workplace for TCS. In 2008, she launched a diversity platform, Diversity & Women’s Network with the motive of increasing gender diversity in TCS. Today, the Diversity and Inclusion function has moved a step ahead to become a strategic unit within TCS under her guidance. Under her leadership, TCS has been ranked one of the top 10 companies to work for women in India and the UK by AVTAR and Women in Technology Awards, one of DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for sustained investments and efforts in diversity and inclusion.
She is a well-renowned speaker at various global forums like Oracle – Inclusive Leadership Summit and 2018 CII WomeNation Summit and academic institutes like IIMs, KJ Somaiya, Banasthali Vidyapeeth Women’s University, to name a few– sharing her visionary views on the future of workplace, talent and inclusion. Featured on the SAP Game Changing Women Radio, she has written for Fortune Magazine (Most Powerful Women) on “Keeping More Women in the Corporate World” and “Setting Yourself for Success” and attended TCS SAPPHIRE Call2Lead Summit 2017 and 2018. Recently, she was selected as one of the 20 Top HR Influencers chosen by HR 40under40 – a Jombay Initiative.
She serves as an independent director and an advisory board member for many organizations. She is currently appointed as National Secretary in NHRDN National Executive Board.
An iconic leader, a charismatic speaker in the HR community and a doctorate in psychology, Ritu has been pivotal in bringing diversity, equal opportunity, and advancement of women in corporate leadership along with being a role model to many aspiring young leaders.
