Regina Delfino Education in Design for Sustainable Development – Packaging Design Polytechnic Institute of Tomar.
After studying Graphic Arts at SENAI Professional School, in São Paulo, Brazil, she took a BA in Communication Design (1996), at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. Then she attended a MA in Multimedia Educational Communication (2001), at the Open University, and a PhD in Design (2013), at the University of Lisbon. In Brazil, she worked mainly with Newspaper and Magazine Design; and in Portugal with Book Design and Graphic Production. Since 1997, she has been teaching Packaging Design, Post-press, Graphic Technology and Editorial Design in two BA courses: Design and Graphic Arts Technology and Journalism, both at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT).
Her main area of interest is Graphic Technology. Packaging Design and Technology and Sustainability are her areas of scientific activity. She is an effective member of the Centre for Technology, Restoration and Art Enhancement (Techn&Art), at IPT, and a collaborator at the Research Centre for Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD) at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon. In her doctoral thesis she created a methodological model to design paper and cardboard packages in the category of food, contributing to the spread of knowledge of particular areas of packaging technology and graphic technology. She adopts this method in its Packaging and Postpress classes and has been diffusing it in several workshops abroad, such as Brazil, Greece or Spain.
