She was recognized among top fifty leaders redefining education in 2008 by Education World. Her contribution to education of adolescent girls has been recognized by National and International Organizations.
She was State Project Director Mahila Samakhya Uttar Pradesh GOI, one of worlds’ most successful and largest programme of women empowerment. She worked as Deputy Lead Operations Director India School Leadership Programme of UK India Educational Research Initiative GOI. She was a member of National Curriculum Framework 2005, has been a member of various programme and Steering Committees of GOI, also a member of Steering Group on Harvard Gender Violence Project on Adolescent Education, Harvard University.
She has more than twenty-five years of experience in the field of education, gender and development. Her contributions in establishment of residential schools for girls (KGBV) from social and economically backward sections and work for denotified tribes, rehabilitation of trafficked children are noteworthy.
