Rania M Rafik Khalil is the Research Coordinator, Internationalisation Coordinator and the Advising and Language Support Office (ALSO) Coordinator for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the British University in Egypt (BUE). Her primary research and teaching interests are literature with a focus on her specialization in Drama, Theatre and Performance studies. She has additional publications which focus on teaching and learning pedagogy, 21st century skills for millennial learners and support strategies for students in higher education. Dr. Khalil is CELTA certified from Cambridge UK, is an international accreditation advanced reviewer for CEA, USA, an international examiner and an international judge for QS Reimagine Education. She was an international visiting scholar at Kyungpook National University in Daegu, South Korea in 2011 and at ViVES University of Applied Sciences in Kortrijk, Belgium in November 2019. She has recently completed a two years international research consultancy project on the Perception of Young Syrian Refugees on Higher Education in the MENA Region in collaboration with UNHCR and British Council, UK with research funding of US$52,000. Currently she is serving on the Transnational Scientific Committee for The Migration Conference 2020 Tetovo, Macedonia. In recognition of her research efforts, Dr. Khalil received the BUE Early Career Research Award (RAW) for 2017-18.
