Rajika Kishore

Founder, BeingWoman.Rocks

Mumbai , India

Rajika’s story is not actually a story – it is at best a narration of the reality and the feeling of suffocation experienced by a person in the shackles of a “middle class” family and a permanent state of perceived social bliss.
The Indian woman transitions from one bondage to another – a bird who did not grow wings, when she grew wings…she finds herself in a cage of responsibility and sacrifice and when she finally comes out of that cage she has lost her will and skill to fly !
Despite all odds imposed by the society and the women themselves, some courageous women are indeed emerging and want to take on the world…to give themselves what they have been deprived of – by themselves and others – the full meaning of an achieving life – the joy of success, the recognition of their talents and the grit required to bring others success at the altar of self-sacrifice at every step.
BeingWoman.Rocks is such a platform conceived and implemented by Rajika which aspires to give wings to the wingless birds of women by creating opportunities for them aimed at giving them confidence and feel the joy of success.
The focus of BeingWoman.Rocks is enabling such women in small steps within a nurturing ecosystem of its members and group members so that the woman discovers every opportunity she sacrificed –
The opportunity to learn and enjoy the campus life
The opportunity to be loud mouthed
The opportunity to be heard
The opportunity to take risks
The opportunity to flaunt
The opportunity to ENDEAVOUR, ENTERPRISE AND ACHIEVE!
The role of society is to nurture and encourage women in achieving their lost youth, ambition and will at every step. BeingWoman.Rocks has started petitions to universities to have reduced fee structures for women (above 35 years) enrolling into their courses. Airlines to offer reduced tariffs to self-employed women travelling alone. To Governments to have reduced taxes for women enterprises. “Women don’t deserve reservations – they deserve” is the motto BeingWoman.Rocks lives by.
A hotel management graduate and a trained Bharat Natyam dancer Rajika lovingly gave up her budding career in teaching to take “full time” care of her little children. During the course of her motherhood she gave her best to raising her two sons and also contributed to her husband’s chronic start – ups. Learning new skills, from being zero in IT to managing end to end the digital marketing of her string of websites, Rajika has come a long way. BeingWoman.Rocks started initially as her expression of anguish which she has moulded carefully into a creative statement of enterprise and endeavour promising to lend a supporting hand to the so many women who have also been through the meandering ways of womanhood and earnestly look out for a new meaning to their lives. Apart from BeingWoman.Rocks ! Rajika is a Director for CorporateGalaxy Executive Search, JobzATM.com – Jobs portal and StarTrainingNetwork.com.
