Rachna Chandra is an Entrepreneur, Fashion designer and Philanthropist. She runs a full fledge boutique “Taj Cottage” in Farmington Hills Michigan USA.
Taj Cottage is an Indian Bridal Boutique, catering to all ethnicities since 2005. It is a one stop shop for everyone. Taj Cottage carries mix styles of Indian bridal and contemporary designs. The mainstream designs had been featured on various Tv channels including Detroit Public Television and also showcased in New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.
Apart from fashion designing, Rachna has worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Henry Ford College and spear headed the Industrial sewing program. She has also worked in automotive industry and designed soft trims for automotive interiors.
She is a Lead Industrial Sewing Instructor at Zaman International (501 c-3), where she has developed a federal approved program and training the underprivileged women to learn the skill and earn a living.
She is also a Co-Founder of Detroit Indian Women Association –DIWA (501 c-3) where

She is also the Vice President at Glamorous Mom’s foundation (501 c-3) who helps under privileged women and kids.

Their goal is to teach our fashion community what they need to know to succeed in this industry, find them the jobs they need to stay in the state, provide them mentorship to grow as entrepreneurs, and host networking events to come together.
In 2020 she had completed a successful mask mission, with the help of 45 volunteers, sewed and donated over 11000 homemade fabric masks. Masks were donated nationwide including USNS comfort navy ship, and troops in Afghanistan. She has been honored with officer’s coin and also received recognition from the Governor of Michigan.
She has received many awards for her selfless community services, including a n award from Miss.Universe Harnaaz Sandhu for being a inspiring women in business and philanthropy, social impact. She lives in Novi Michigan with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys traveling and cooking.
