Prof. Ranjana Ray Chaudhuri is a faculty in the Department of Regional Water Studies at the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), New Delhi, India. She is an academician and water professional with more than 12 years of teaching experience in water courses and 13 years of industry experience in civil engineering projects, and training. She is a civil engineer with master’s in environmental engineering (from Delhi College of Engineering, now DTU) and PhD in Hydrology (TERI School of Advanced Studies). She is a member of AWWA and IWA, has published in the field of extreme rainfall event analysis and groundwater footprint. Her area of expertise is broadly in urban water management and hydrological planning including statistical hydrological modelling, extreme event analysis, surface water and ground water modelling. She has worked on many projects related to integrated water resource management (IWRM) for cities, peri urban areas and rural areas and catchment hydrology of streams and river basins in India. She has designed academic courses on water audit and demand management, integrated watershed, and river basin management, applied hydrology and meteorology amongst others. She has worked on development of curriculum for higher education in the field of water, WASH and environment. She has worked on USAID project related to Urban WASH and UNEP project on circular economy to improve resource use efficiency.
