She is associated with the Government of India (GoI) in various ways, to include- Member of the Task Force for ‘Women Safety in Delhi’ constituted by the Lieutenant Governor; Member of the Expert Panel constituted by Lieutenant Governor to study Women’s Safety in Delhi; Member Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) under Mobility component of KIRAN Programme, GoI; NOC Member for International Adoption, CARA, GoI etc. She was the Warden and Provost for seven years of the International Students House for Women, DU. She is a member of various bodies of government and Universities involved by way of curriculum revision committees, research, selection panels.
Singla is the member of the Core committee of the University to Internationalize Curriculum under RISHII Project. She spent her formative years in Iran (Tabriz) in 1970s with her parents and is well travelled. She was invited as Guest Faculty by Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan, 20-27 March 2019. She is also the International Consultant for Department of Social Work, Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan.
During her Headship the Department has ranked high on various parameters such as (as per the result of Best College Survey-2022, conducted by India Today MDRA, for the period 2020-21)–The Best Government Funded College in Social Work in Academic excellence in India’, ‘The Best Government Funded College in Social Work in Personality and leadership development in India’; The Best Government Funded College in Social Work in Career Progression & Placement and also as The Best College of Social Work in Northern India. As per the ranking conducted by Outlook – ICARE 2022, the Department has once again ranked The Best College in India in Academic Research Excellence’.
Prof. Singla was honored by her alma mater SRCC with distinguished Alumni Award 2020. She was recently elected as Member, Board of Directors, International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).
