Priyanka Singh

My name is Priyanka Singh. I am originally from India but since last 9 years I am residing in Netherlands. I am working as Scientist Biometrics & Big Data analysis at HZPC BV, The Netherlands. I have worked in various Agri-Biotech/Food companies. In capacity of a Genomics Data scientist, I have conducted various research for development of better varieties of various vegetables, fruits and flowers crops which are high yielding, disease resistance, drought resistance etc.
Other than scientific researcher, I have also been involved in organizing various cultural & social events for Indians and International communities here in Netherlands. I am also a volunteer at Shramyog Uttarakhand, India. This NGO is working for environmental biodiversity conservation, women empowerment in rural areas of Himalayan foothills. Education is a key to developed and happy society. Knowing my social responsibility, I am also contributing towards free education of underprivileged children through SPGV old student alumni, Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh. At present, I am also a volunteer at OFBJP Netherlands, which is working towards bringing scattered Indian communities under one roof and their integration in Dutch society.
As a scientist, I have realized that how science can change the economic and social structure of the country. I would love to work towards agriculture research and technological exchange between Indian and Netherlands (or Europe). If I define myself in one sentence, then “I am a Scientist by profession and a traveler by choice”. So far, I have traveled more than 30 countries. In my spare time, I like to watch movie, write poems and meet up with friends. Culture, music, travel inspire me and motivate me to live life & love life.
