Paramita Datta Dey is a city planner and has around 20 years of post-qualification experience having worked with Ministries of the Government of India and internationally funded projects of the UNDP, CIDA, World Bank, ADB, USAID and BMGF. She has been engaged in a number of policy initiatives in the urban development sector, particularly on infrastructure, urban poverty and environment issues. As a core member of the research team at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), she has gained expertise in policy review and formulation, project monitoring and evaluation and urban poverty reduction strategy. Paramita is presently working on evidence-based research and advocacy for urban policy and practice, with sanitation as the focus.
