Nivine has more than 25 years of experience in the field of international cooperation, strategic management and institutional development. She also had considerable experience in social policies and in evaluation. Her graduate studies in international political economy and international relations in Canada complemented her practical experience in international organizations and in managing development cooperation agreements.

Working as a Deputy for Minister of Social Solidarity in social protection and development broadened her policy scope on working for poverty alleviation, economic empowerment equity, as well as disability. Nivine is currently managing the secretariat of the Ministerial Committee for Social Justice led by the Prime Minister. Ten years working for UNICEF enhanced her international experience on development framework and specifically on women and children issues. Before joining UNICEF, Nivine was the Deputy Director for America’s Development Foundation in Egypt and in National Council for Negro Women, which strengthened her skills in Advocacy, Governance and Sound Management. She was also a Policy, Planning and Monitoring Advisor for the General Secretary of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood and for the National Council for population. Nivine is the founder and was the chairperson of the first Egyptian Research and Evaluation Network (EREN) in Egypt.

Nivine has been nominated as the Minister of Social Solidarity in December 2019. She has already started launching the strategy for the Ministry focusing on strengthening Governance practices, enhancing grievance redress mechanism and emphasizing citizens’ satisfaction, leading a mega reform on social care institutions, promoting the rights of people with disabilities and elderly, optimizing the resources of the ministry towards economic empowerment and income generation opportunities, expanding collaboration with civil society and private sector, and mobilizing volunteerism for the sake of social causes.
