Ar. Nilakshi Sarma graduated from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara in 1985 with a first class and distinction.
After a short stint in consultancy, she joined the Public Works Department of the Government of Assam in India. During her service, she has been a part of various prestigious government projects, notable amongst which are the development of the prestigious Siukapha Sammannay Khetra Jorhat, renovation of the Assam state museum and the Assam state library. Apart from various government buildings, she has also headed her team in the development of many new medical colleges and other educational institutes in Assam.
