I’ve been an active advocate of equality and rights for women and being a leading Instagram influencer (with over 2.5 lakh followers), I use social media as a platform to promote causes that truly matter like women’s rights and gender equality. Having gone through my own body positivity journey (from being body shamed in the past to self acceptance in the present), I completely understand the mindsets of those women that are body shamed and I help them using examples from my personal life. Gender equality and body positivity are something I promote strongly. I was felicitated with the YOUNG WOMAN ACHIEVERS AWARD 2017 for my contribution in the field of women empowerment, body positivity and cancer research and development. I run my own cancer research and awareness organisation called SILVER LININGS. I am a motivational speaker and a TEDx speaker ( “The Hidden Truth – New Age Fashion & Fitness”) as well. I have spoken at the panel of various reputed institutes like: – IIT Bombay (SAVE THE CHILDREN: THE CHANGEMAKER SERIES, how social influencers change mindsets) – BODYPOWER EXPO 2019 (where I spoke about how important it is for women to own their physique and take pride in it.) – DECATHLON – DE TALKS (where I threw light on fitness being a personal choice for men and women alike) – NEXT ’19- THE THINK TANK (where I spoke about how important women rights are and the value they hold in today’s time.) I am a fitness enthusiast and I promote a lot of body positivity for women when I speak at platforms like IIT (women empowerment includes body positivity) and BODYPOWER EXPO (stop body shaming). I am an actor and have done an intensive theatre workshop under the actor Neeraj Kabi. I am a leading influencer from Instagram where I use social media as a platform to motivate women and help them grow as a person. Every post that I put up is to help women understand how beautiful their bodies are and how women need to have their own voice. Body positivity is a huge part of women empowerment. IMPACT: As a result of my talks at different platforms, posts (affecting over 2.5 lakh of masses on Instagram) and personal interactions with people, I have noticed people adapting to what I share in my talks. People have come up to me to tell me how my examples have brought a massive change to they lives and how it has helped them become a better version of themselves. True change in fields such as gender equality and women empowerment, will only be seen through advocacy and education. Therefore, I work on the same. Hundreds and thousands have shared their stories with me via email and social media posts or blogs wherein they have explained how the words that I shared on body positivity and women empowerment helped them. They have used my methods of body positivity, implemented them in personal life and stopped living as per societal norms. I have even spoken at platforms for men who have been wrongly accused in the #MeToo movement. When I understand that women have faced horrendous crimes committed by men under this specific category, I also stand for the small percentage of men who are wrongly dragged into these cases. Those cases, no matter how small, cannot be negated. The presence of either side does not show the absence of the other, no matter how small that may be in percentage. Justice is justice and that for me is the true meaning of gender equality. I also speak for BODY POSITIVITY and SELF ACCEPTANCE I have been the fitness ambassador of Chisel Fitness – India along with the brand ambassador, Virat Kohli. So I have also promoted gender equality and women’s body positivity at a national level.
