Founder and Chairman, Kavitha Foundation
In 2009 I volunteered in Baale Mane (“Girl’s Home” in Kannada, the local language in Bangalore),
a home for disadvantaged and abandoned girls, located just outside of Bangalore, India. I was very touched by the power, talents en optimism of these girls. They inspired me to support them more structural, to develop their talents.
Education is an important tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. In 2010 I founded “Kavitha Foundation”, a small scale education fund to support the education of the girls in Baale Mane.
This foundation is named after one of the girls who inspired me very much. From the start I am the chairwomen of this foundation. With our partners in India, UK and The Netherlands we empowered girls to take care of themselves and their families.
