Ms. Neveen Elhusseiny is the political Counsellor of the Egyptian Embassy in New Delhi. She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt in 1998, where she dealt with various files including Human Rights issues and mechanisms, Egypt-US relations, the Peace Process in the Middle East, and Israel.
Before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Elhusseiny worked for the Arab Organization for Human Rights and for a Consultancy organization focusing in Public policy analysis and evaluation.
She graduated from Cairo University in 1996 where she studied political science. Then she had her master degree from the same university in Development. Her thesis was about informal networks and political participation of poor women. She had another master degree in Human Rights Law from LSE in the UK in 2001. She published several articles about human rights, development and gender issues and international relations.
Ms. Elhusseiny is married and has a son and a daughter.
