Namrata Tiwari Talukdar, is a Bharatnatyam and Manipuri dancer, who has been learning dance since the age of six. She is a disciple of Prof. M.R. Krishnamurthy who is a disciple of the legendary Rukmini Devi Arundale. To further enhance her skills she also trained under the guru Ambika Bush & Guru Gayatri Bala Gurunathan. She has completed her masters in Fine Arts in Bharatnatyam from Bharatidasan University, Tiruchipalli. She has attended various workshops conducted by the living legends Leela Samson & the Dhananjayans.

She is a recipient of the “Exceptional Woman of Excellence” award for her contribution in the field of dance, art and culture from “Women Economic Forum – All Ladies League”

She is also a certified therapeutic movement practitioner who has studied “Creative Movement Therapy” from CMTAI, Bengaluru and certified by CID- UNESCO, France.

She is also a trained Manipuri dancer, who honed her skills under the tutelage of Ms. Rekha Talukdar and Ms. Anindita Rajkumari, who are disciples of Guru Bipin Singh. Besides that, she has also completed her B.A., L.L.B. from Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies.She has been appreciated by noted media houses like the Hindu, The Deccan Herald, Assam Tribune & the Sentinel to name a few. She has performed in various prestigious dance festivals of India like the Hampi Festival of Karnataka and the Natyanjali festival of Chidambaram. She has also performed for prestigious programmes organised by the Kannada & cultural department of Karnataka & ICCR. She has been a part of the dance faculty in Shankara Foundation, Bangalore and also at Krishnaveni Dance School Chennai, where she groomed young dancers. From here, to further spread the universal language of dance, she decided to establish her own centre for dance and performing arts, SHIVANG.
