Mia Semmens, age 10, wants to inspire adults to be more human. She feels that there are 3 different areas where adults have “forgotten what’s important” and these are: caring for the environment, caring for animals, and caring for each other. At the age of 7, Mia was upset by the level of homelessness she saw when travelling to various parts of the world. What most upset her was the reaction of adults, including her own parents, who simply walked onwards ignoring the homeless and suffering. She began writing a book entitled, “Lessons for Adults Taught by Children”, still to be published. Mia has set up a social media platform called Kids Inspire Humanity which includes monthly “Kindness Challenges” to inspire us all to be more human. Her motto is, “We are all human beings but we are not all being human.”
