Merle Garcia

Merle Garcia was born and raised on the Navajo Reservation up in the Four Region of New Mexico. He would later graduate from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History. His main focus is in Native American artwork, more specifically in Navajo weaving . He believes that talented artistic students in high school do not get the recognition and encouragement they deserve. In efforts to recognize these students and their talents, he gathered a few pieces from the students of the Navajo Nation for the attendants of the Women’s Economic Forum to view and admire.
