Melanie Seier Larsen is a Managing director and Partner at the Boston Consulting Group (‘BCG’), a leading global consulting company. When in January 2018 Melanie was named a BCG Managing director and Partner, she became the first Slovenian woman to occupy such a high position in the global company and she was also the first woman from CEE to be a partner of BCG. Within BCG Melanie is part of the CEMA Consumer goods leadership team and she is in charge for Consumer good CEE. With 15 years of experience in management consulting, her primary focus is on Consumer products, Retail and People & organization functional topics in Southeast Europe, CEE and globally. She has a master’s degree and a MBA from the IEDC Bled School of Management in Slovenia and studied Economics. Beside her regular business acitivies, Melanie is passionate about the role of women in society and human rights. She is a keen and active advocate of modern society built on the basis of gender equality. From 2014 she holds the position of President of the Section of women managers at the Manager’s Association of Slovenia. During her presidency she has been making bold and pioneering steps towards gender balancement on the top leadership positions in Slovene companies. She is a driving force and initiator of systemic actions on the state level that would lead to more balanced and equal business society in Slovenia. Melanie is also a member of several mentorship programs and actively involved in the discussions about position of women in business environment.
