Born in 1966, married and currently residing in Santa Catarina da Serra – Leiria. Businesswoman at heart.
From very early Emília Alves revealed a very proactive and entrepreneurial personality. She completed 3rd grade at St. Mary’s Heart School in Fátima and at the age of 14 she started working at the Fátima Sanctuary. Later on her father, Joaquim Vieira Alves, whom she deeply admires, brought her to work at his company Da Serra and Sons Constructions (Construções da Serra & Filhos). Emília cleaned and worked iron, fixed angle grinders, single phase power extensions and welding machines. With this experience she obtained the know-how to overlook the various industrial units she now owns, Construções Vieira Alves, SA (Vieira Alves Constructions SA) and Vieira Alves Metalomecânica, SA (Vieira Alves Metalworking SA), with determination and know-how in the meatalworking sector, acquired throughout the years. She now employs around 140 people and has been one of the major Wind Tower builders in Portugal.
A firm catholic, Emília Alves thanks God daily for the good moments and the strength to overcome challenges both personal and professional.
