Manuel Nunes, is an archaeologist, professor, free Lancer journalist, author and member of several NGOs and, since 2013, councillor of Environment and Nature in the Municipality of Lousada.
In the field of archeology he’s a scientific consultant and coordinator of a number of research projects. He founded the scientific journal OPPIDUM and edited several books centered on local and regional history and archaeology. In addition he published dozens of scientific articles in the area of archaeology, history, heritage, molinology ethnography, archaebotany and geoarcheology.
As journalist and author he dedicated more than 20 years to active environmentalism, collaborating with several journals and magazines where he was responsible for countless articles. He published, in Portugal and Spain, about a dozen books devoted to the dissemination and conservation of natural heritage. On the subject of nature conservation and natural heritage he has been uttering lectures and communications in national and international forums. He is founder and co-editor of the scientific journal LUCANUS, Environment and Society.
