Manjit Gill

Former, Darman Recycling Canada

Canada

40 years ago, Manjit immigrated from India, where she was working on completing her Masters in History at the Punjab University, to Langley in 1971. Manjit immigrated to join her husband, Darcy Gill, and the family business at Cloverdale Fule Ltd. Manjit and her husband are still running this business, which has been based in Langley since 1941, and have since expanded two more businesses – Darman Recycling Canada and Darman Recycling USA.
Over the past 20 years, Manjit has sat on various committees, charities and boards where she is an active member of the Langley community, as well as the multicultural community. She has contributed many volunteers hours with various charities, and was the recipient of the Paul Harris Award, which was awarded by the Rotary Club Newton.
Manjit is excited to be part of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, as she has a personal connection to the hospital where her two children and three grandchildren were born. She hopes to bring positive energy and contributions to the hospital in order to help it grow to be the best-equipped and staffed facility to meet the needs of Langley residents. Manjit enjoys travelling, writing poetry, reading novels and spending time with her three grandchildren.
