Mala Mohan has a rich and varied experience of around 37 years as an architect of planning Hospitals, Auditoriums, Gymnasiums, Swimming Pools and developing Cantonments for the Defence personnel. She superannuated in December 2019 as the ADG (Arch), Military Engineer Service, Ministry of Defense. She was the Head of Architecture Cadre in MES PAN India from 2016 to 2019 and was responsible for all the architectural works of the Armed Forces.
She was involved in the preparation of an Architect Brief (Scales of Accommodation of Hospitals for the Armed Forces). She had prepared the Dossier for Global Competition for the ‘War Memorial’ and was involved from scratch in the planning of the War Memorial at India Gate Lawns.
She has planned a number of Hospitals varying from 30 bedded to 1200 bedded Command Hospitals. She has also adorned responsible positions in various professional bodies and has presented a number of papers in various defence and professional seminars which include topics on acoustics, planning of hospitals, sustainable architecture, green buildings, cantonment planning, etc. She has been a panel speaker on many forums and jury member for many architectural competitions.
She has been an Executive Council Member in the Council of Architect and was the member of many Committees of COA including the Amendment Act Committee.
