Maheekshita Mishra currently holds the portfolio of Media Panellist of Biju Janta Dal and is the State General Secretary of Biju Yuva Janata Dal.She was formerly India Head of Partnerships for Rapid Response, Indian’s premier agency for disaster response, and the former Director of Odisha-based NGO “MAADHYAM” that primarily deals with the issues related to women and children. Having 10 years’ experience in the field of social work, she is the Co-founder of Craftsy India, a platform to promote traditional Art & Craft and market-linkages with artists and artisans. She has expertise in handling cases related to domestic violence, disabilities and special needs, and has handled cases associated with child marriage in Puri. Having expertise in Training on Child Rights & Vulnerability, Gender, Disaster Management and RBM she has been giving training to different group of people. She was the first to implement MISP in the state during the 2014 Odisha floods. She headed the cyclone response and relief distribution during Cyclone FANI in Odisha, floods relief in Assam, Kolhapur and Belgavi. Fani Cyclone Response gave her and RR a great recognition in Odisha starting from Hon’ble CM to Hon’ble MP Puri. The Tourism Department of Government of Odisha recognised her commendable work for the artists of Raghurajpur during Cyclone Fani. She was also felicitated by Punjab National Bank on Women’s Day 2021 for her selfless contributions towards the Society.
