Lynne Henkiel is the Director of Innovation Ecosystems in the Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2)at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been involved in creating and implementingEI²’s innovative ecosystems development practices, aiding communities in developingtheir entrepreneur base through research and education. Lynne also is the PI for theUS federalEDA University Center award to Georgia Tech for the lasttwo award periods, and was awarded the EDA Regional Innovation Strategies (RIS) I6 award in 2014. In addition, she is the developer for the incubation health assessments tool, community innovation assessment tool, and instrumental in developing the Georgia Tech Soft Landings program for international companies looking to expandinto the US market.Her19+ year career at Georgia Tech has focused early on with commercializing innovations from NASA’sKennedy Space Center, Stennis Space Center, and Marshall Space Flight Center.Within her responsibilities of working with startup companies that licensed NASA technology, she worked in partnershipwith startup entrepreneurs to overcome many of the early pitfalls of starting a technology business.She also managedthe dual-use industry partnerships for NASA Marshallinvolving both large and startup businesses.She has also started the US Expansion Practicum course at the Scheller College of Business, partnering MBA students with successful business people who arealso Georgia Tech alumni.
